Ten to One ...

Saw this one in Shilpa’s blog first. Ever since I started blogging I love taking up tags.
1) You get an easy post in your blog.
2) What another good way to introspect and reflect and have answers for some we-never-ask-ourselves-ever-questions.
So here goes my ten to one …

TEN HOW’S!

How did you get one of your scars? From a running around the home scenario. And it’s still there in my knees.

How did you celebrate your last birthday? With friends. Movie and Beach.

How are you feeling at this moment? I’m watching a Horror movie while I’m typing this. So I’m feeling Horror!

How did your night go last? Pretty uneventful!

How did you do in high school? I was a pretty good student.

How did you get the shirt you are wearing? I’m wearing an old PJ. Don’t quite remember from where.

How often do you see your best friends?  Not too often. Thou we chat on a day basis.

How much money did you spend last month? Don’t’ even remind me about that. I was somewhat bankrupt by the time my salary was credited.

How old do you want to be when you get married? 28. But I got married at 26.

How old will you be at your next birthday? 28.

9 WHAT’S!

Your mother’s name? Why do you even want to know?

What did you do last weekend? Work. Sleep. Movie. Just been lazy.

What is the most important part of your life? To feel happy about myself.

What would you rather be doing? A solo vacation.

What did you last cry over? Today morning.

What always makes you feel better when you’re upset? Coffee and Chocolate. And recently I found out Prayers too give me inner peace.

What’s the most important thing you look for in a significant other? Acceptability. Humour. Compassion.

What did you have for breakfast? A Cup of Coffee.

8 YOU’S!

Have you ever liked someone who had a girlfriend/boyfriend? No

Have you ever had your heart broken? Yes.

Have you ever been out of the country? Yes. I'm living in a country which is not my homeland.

Have you ever done something outrageously dumb? Yes. Lost track of the number.

Have you ever been back-stabbed by a friend? Yes.

Have you ever had sex on the beach? No. Not even the cocktail.

Have you ever read an entire book in a day? Absolutely. Many times.

7 WHO’S!

Who was the last person you saw? Colleagues.

Who was the last person you texted? Not one. Two friends.

Who was the last person to call you? Again another friend.

Who did you last hug? Brother.

Who is the last person who texted you? Friends who I texted last.

Who is the last person you said, “I Love You” to? Right now to my brother. When he's busying doing something I like to call him as if to say something important and just say "I love you." Because I truly love him and I love to irritate him too.

6 WHERE’S!

Where do your best friends live? All over the world. And near me too. Thanks to technology.

Where did you last go? Workplace.

Where did you last hang out? At a friend's place.

5 DO’S!

Do you think anyone likes you? I think at least a few.

Do you ever wish you were someone else? No. But a much better version than me.

Do you know the muffin man? Nope

Does the future scare you? Yes.

Do your parents know about your blog? No.

4 WHY’S!

Why are you best friends with your best friend? For the bond of non-judgmental companionship, trust and love that we share.

Why did you get into blogging? Because I'm better with words when it's coming from my pen rather than my voice

Why did your parents give you the name you have? Mom named me. She thought it was a unique (then) and more of North Indian name.

Why are you doing this survey? I'm bored and my blog is super bored of been idle for long.

3 IFS!

If you could have one super power what could it be? To go back in time and change a few things.

If you could go back in one time and change one thing, would you? Yes, definitely!

If you were stranded on a deserted island and could bring one thing, what would you bring? Books. Food. Water. OK. One thing?! A boat loaded with fuel so I won't be stranded for long.

2 WOULD YOU EVER?

Would you ever get back together if one of your ex’s ever asked you? No. I won't part with someone just like that. There should be a reason.

Would you ever shave your head to save someone you love? Yes. Definitely!

1 LAST QUESTION!

Are you happy with your life right now? No. This is one of those bad phases. And things should get better than this which I'm sure it'll. But I'm happy for who I am.

Belief.

I believe in Fairy tales, Tooth fairy, Santa Claus and Easter Bunny. I believe in magic. I believe in miracles. I believe there are angels all around me. I believe in Satan’s. I believe in Karma. I believe in Maya. I believe in bliss. I believe there are perfect human beings. I believe that knowledge is infinite. I believe that the stars up there are your lost ones. I believe in wishing stars. I believe in God. I believe in white and black. I believe in love and hate. I believe in life after death. I believe there’s a pot of gold at the end of every rain bow. I believe in the vastness of the sky. I believe in heaven. I believe in dreams. I believe honesty. I believe lies. I believe the fake smiles of people. I believe the grayness in every one. I believe in imperfections. I believe rain, cries and smiles. I believe thunder applause. I believe the wind hums along with me. I believe in Harry Potter. I believe in unicorns. I believe in serenity and hustle. I believe in love at first sight. I believe in falling out of love. I believe in destiny. I believe in happily ever after. I believe life is beautiful. I believe life is cruel. I believe in death. I believe in eternity. I believe in contradictions. I believe in the universe.

I believe in everything good and beautiful. I believe that everything, good or bad, smiles or tears, ups or downs happens for a reason. I believe that we all are here in this space for a purpose. And this journey called life is all about that.

Believe and make your beliefs your dreams.

Love hidden inside the pages ...

Amu was cleaning the attic when she stumbled upon old books. Like always it pulled her towards them. While checking the titles of the books, she happened to see a rather an old torn journal. No name, dates nothing… Just pages filled with so many words. Some have disappeared in course of time, some worn out... But yet the soul was there....

“......became his words when he wanted that and a part of his silence when he craved that. I was there in his sunshine and also in the darkness holding his hands. When he felt like plunging deep down into the ocean I went for that too. And in return he let me be the sea and he became my shore. No matter how far and wide I went, I always returned to my shore with more strength. When the urge to know the world increased in me, the pull towards the shore became more powerful. He was home for me....”

That was the line page … after that just blank page. She searched the whole attic for the rest of her words. She didn’t know who wrote these. It was not her Mom’s, her Grandmom? Or someone else? … But one thing she understood was she was not the first person in her family who was in love with words. Someone else was also there in the past.

I killed my Child in the Future

Dear Child,

I'm sorry.

I'm so sorry my dearest daughter … I'm going to kill you before giving you a chance to live.

I'm sorry for snatching away your right to live, even when you're just my dream.

I always wanted you to be mine. Dreamt and loved you like forever now. But now I don't want you to be born in this world. Yes. I don’t!

A world where you have to fight constantly to just live. Where you have to be vigil every minute to just breathe.

I don't want those annoying aunties to stare at you when you chose cars and guns along with your dolls. Or give you an earful when you opt for shorts and jeans over frocks and skirts. I don't want you to be forced to have long hair just because you're a girl.

I don't want you to worry about the world before you decide to do anything. I don't want you to live in a world where you'll be tagged as opinionated, stubborn and ruthless when you stand for yourself. Don't want you to fight and struggle against the egos of the opposite sex when you climb those ladders in your career. Nor tag you as a slut when you go for a movie or dinner with your male friend. I don't want you to be called a flirt when you prefer male friends over females. Or a whore when you chose to be sexually active.

I don't want you to worry about been safe when you're working late. Or be told that been a girl you have to ignore those disrespectful behaviors from your boyfriend/husband/anyone. I don't want you to wake up from your sleep multiple times to ensure that you have bolted the doors and no one will intrude your privacy. I don't want you to be born in a world where suffering, forgiving and been silent is considered as the virtues of women only. A world where male strength is considered as a gift to abuse women…. No, my dear… I don’t want you to be born here.

Don’t think I’m against men; in fact I still love and move forward in life because of the men in my life. But now a day it’s rare to find such souls. And it’s not about men only. When you start living you’ll understand even some women are there to make your life terrible.

I wanted you to be born in a world where you're respected for the human being you're. Cared for the goodness you exhibit. Appreciated for your bravery and not for the perfection others demand.   I want you to be loved for the kind nature of yours and not because you're born a Woman.

I want you to be born in a world you deserve dear. And I promise my child, that you'll feel a lot happier and safe inside my dreams.

Yours Always.

Her Voice ....

She was quite when they met

She was quite when he swept her off her feet

She was quite when he argued

Quite even when he raised his hand against her

But now...

When she finally found her voice, he become silent...

Never to raise his voice again.
